Sorry I haven't updated in quite some time - getting engaged will take your mind off of all things productive, and throw you into wedding planning mode. Time to snap back to reality.
Nothing makes it easier to snap back to reality than seeing that your district needs to cut 4.4 Million this year. Every year I wonder if I will be coming back for next school year, and this is no different. Librarians are usually on the chopping block in some way, and this year I am fearing the worst. I love my job, I love my students, and it kills me to think that I could possibly not be here next year.
Stop. Just breathe.
As I sit here, questions are flashing through my mind - Will I be cut? Will I be half time? Would I be able to find a job? What would I do?
Honestly, right now I don't know. I don't know anything. Budget talks are just beginning, and I know that I will be hearing about staff reductions for many weeks to come.
